Announcement: Youtube, Daily Blog, Mew Mythical Collection
Hey, guys. It’s time for another life update.
So you guys have probably noticed post have slowed down again. Daily Blog is officially being put on hold. Here is why:
In 2009, I started my very first youtube channel. I was 14. I made some good friends. My brother and I were best friends and bonded over making videos and playing games. I had not even started high school yet, and somehow, this was what I was wanting to do with my life. I commonly remember this time period as the second best time period of my life.
My sophomore year of high school I gave YouTube a second try. Me and my friend did improv/sketch comedy. We sent them to all our friends and we had a small following in our home town. Yet again, this was one of the best periods of my life(at the beginning anyway). My senior year, my friend and I could not see eye to eye with what to do with the channel, he eventually realized we should not change our style, but it was too late. I had already lost interest.
My junior year, I returned to my roots and began let’s playing again. It had no momentum this time and suddenly, I was having editing problems. The audio and video were out of sync. At first, I tried fixing and working around it. It become too tedious and, coupled with school, just got lost in mud.
In 2013 as a freshman in college, I decided I wanted to return to YouTube. Roughly three years later, I get a chance to return to the website I love.
When I first started out, videos did not have to be 1080, the market was not super over saturated with lets players, and half the people you know and love today either were not around or were not nearly as popular. It was simply a different time.
I’ve tried. I’ve lost passwords, interest, and patience. But I’m here this time to see it to the end. So come along with me.
Right now I am let’s playing Pokemon: Golden Age for some friends. You should check it. I already have two videos out and I’m hoping to upload frequently. Just search DaHubbz in your YouTube.
For what I am doing for today, I’m going to my local Gamestop. They should have 4 of the Mew Mythical Collection tcg box. I’m strongly debating on buying all four. If I do, I might do a give away. The Mew give-away!
Pokemon20 is taking over like a storm. Today Mew went up as a gift and my heart is absolutely broken I do not own a 3ds anymore! ;(
So right out of the gate this is probably the most disappointing gift pokemons they’ve released. Lets a take a closer look though.
Mew. Pokemon Number 151. Level 100. Psychic. Ability: Synchronization. Moves- Pound
Wait. What? Pound? Pound! POUND!? Am I reading this right. So theyre gonna give us this level 100 Mew that just knows pound? Hmmm, what gives?
Do not get me wrong. It’s Mew. It’s great. We can fix this with TMs, but man, throw us a bone. Give it psychic or a move that is exclusive to this Mew. I mean this is Mew were talking about it, not Magikarp!
Mew is rumored to be able to learn every move and within the game Mew can learn a good bit of moves. So it’s a rather weird move on Gamefreak’s part only giving it pound. I think they’re trying to play off the original Mew if my research is correct. But whatever. I am happy he’s available on account of how rare these give-aways can be.

Daily Blog Challenge: January 31st
Today’s Theme: Thoughts on Chandelure being added to Pokken
For starters, if you havent read my “What 5 pokemon’s should be added to Pokken” already, go do so. *End of shameless plugging*
Chandelure is the latest pokemon added to the highly anticipated Tekken style pokemon game, Pokken. With it’s gameplay trailer dropping today: Here’s my thoughts.

For starters, I do not like that they choose Chandelure. Nothing against it, but we already have Gengar. Plus, if we had to go with another Ghost type, I would much whether want to get Rotom. Rotom could change types to help him get a boost on his opponent and have access to more moves.
But, Chandelure is what we’re given, so lets roll with it.
Right of the bat, for who Chandelure is and as much as I am hating on it, I still like what they’ve done with it. It looks like it has a nice move pool and cool animations. I’m torn on the cry though. It’s creepy, but at the same time sounds like a kid whine. Maybe it’ll grow on me over time. I do actually enjoy that Chandelure is a more an out there choice. The other character’s are usual suspects, so seeing Chandelure’s face here is refreshing.
However, both fire and ghost are represented while a handful of types are not. I’m hoping Chandelure is not the last reveal or at least get some DLC to help cover other types.
Either way, Chandelure looks to spice things up and I appreciate that nonetheless.

Top Five Type Pairings That Need To Happen
Volcanion was released a few weeks ago becoming the first ever Water/Fire. With the addition of Fairy, the type combos now seem endless. Here’s a list of Top Five Pokemon Pairing that need to Happen Nintendo!
#5 Ice/Bug- And who said bugs could only grow in forests? I must admit, I don’t know how well this pokemon would preform but I love the concept. Creepy little bugs crawling all over the south pole. I just imagine them looking horrifying. They do not really compliment each other’s weaknesses too well. Ice handles bug’s weakness to flying though.
#4- Bug/Fairy- I might be the only person here who wants to see this come to life, but that is okay. Most of their pairings are pretty typical. Seems every generation has a Bug/Poison, Bug/Flying, Poison/Grass. I get excited for the odd ball typing like Bug/Electric. Seeing this typing in the future will add some spice to the game.
#3 Psychic/Poison-This typing seems too dreamy to ever come true. I like poisons but with this typing it would give them that heavy hitter it needs. The special attack and speed would be there. Poison could give it a bit more of physical side and allow for some mix sweepers.
#2 Electric/Fighting- This one seems like a cool concept. I imagine it being super hyper and feisty. It would always be looking for a fight. Having fighting would help him against steel pokemons. Also, being electric would easily take care of fighting’s weakness to flying. Plus, I’ve seen Pikachu with boxing gloves on too many times to not want this happen!
#1 Grass/Fire- Grass pokemon’s thrive in sunlight. Think about it. Chlorophyll, solar powered, etc. Fire pokemons love sunlight too. It would increase their attack by 50%. So imagine a 50% stronger fire blast and being able to cast solar beam in one turn. Being grass negates the weakness to water and ground. Being Fire negates it’s weakness to fire, ice, and bug.

Today’s Theme: Early Thoughts on Volcanion
The latest pokemon was revealed a while back and I debated on just waiting til they released the full story, but since were winding down on Pokemon Month, might as well talk about our new goodie!
Volcanion. Pokemon Number 721. Fire/Water. The Steam Pokemon
This guy looks like the real deal. I enjoy the concept and the design very much. To me, looks like a fox’s face with a turtle like body? maybe. I like the ring around him. It’s a cool addition.
They’ve only revealed a short video, so there is a lot left to be desired, but it’s a good start.
He’s the first ever fire/water pokemon. I know! You’d think after 20 years there would be more. but nope. He’s the OG man. This will be the topic of a top five later.
So here’s a quick description of what he can do. He has a unique organ in his body that turns water vapor into powerful fire. Oh, and his heat can straight destroy mountains. I pulled this info from Bulbapedia. Go there to check out their page for more info on this guy.
The negative. Guess what his ability is. Come on guess. Something unique for this unique little creature? Or maybe pressure? The go to for legends. Nope. You’d be wrong. Bulbapedia has it listed as water absorb. I get that, but why not have the option for flash fire? It’s the same concept. Or, what I would prefer, blending the two. Such as “If this pokemon is hit by water or fire moves, it increases his HP.” or what I call Steam Powered “If this pokemon is hit by a water or fire move, this pokemon receives a boost in special attack” I just feel like this ability makes more sense than just water absorb. That part is kinda lame. I mean, I get that matches his organ ability and every thing.
So yeah. Lot’s of potential for this guy. I am going to keep my eyes peeled for sure.

Daily Post Challenge: January 28th
Today’s Theme: What occupation would I want in the Pokemon Universe
So many choices. The everyday poke mart that I can relate to(Former DG employee haha). Or how about helping pokemons at a Pokemon Center? I did put up a post about becoming a substitute teacher today, so maybe I’d want to do that? Than there’s the awesome ones. Gym Leader! Elite Four! Champion! That’s pretty close to being the President right? Wait. Does the Pokeverse even have a government?
So what job do I want: Scientist
Yes! The crazy people with voltorbs. While becoming a teacher is a goal of mine, ecology is my passion. I’d love to study pokemons in their habitats. Come on. Is there anything better. To get to swim with goldeens. To fly with Pidgeottos. To explore caves with digletts. To traverse mountains with Larvitar. To discover forests with Heracross’s.
I would probably end up being Professor Birch’s aid. He studies Habitats.

Daily Blog Post: January 27th
Today’s Theme: What Pokemon Town Would I want to live in?
This is a super tough question! Do I kick it old school and say Pallet town or New Bark Town? Or maybe I go for the huge towns like Castelia? I had it narrowed down to two regions. I either wanted to live in Johto or Sinnoh. Still, as I’m typing this, I am flip flopping between so many cities. Even Lilycove and Lavaridge from Hoenn and Cerulean from Kanto were high on my list.
So which is my favorite: Goldenrod
This was very cool back in the day. If I’m not mistaken it had a game corner you could kill time. It had a pokemon center, pokemon mart, and a gym to keep you busy. Sure, it could spring from a contest hall. Another plus, it’s in walking distance of Azalea and Ercuteak, two cool cities. I think we all know the saling point though. It had a huge radio tower! Yeah, it was so cool that Oak would come and do his program through it. I always loved that. It also got used in a side mission to rescue it from Team Rocket. The other high point is that it had a train. Yeah, this was the big one for me because I can easy get to Kanto thanks to it. That is always a plus. So living in Golden Rod means sweet vacations.
One of the minuses that stands out is the lack of history. Violet town and Ercuteak have their towers. Azalea has it’s slowpoke well and Blackthorn has the dragon’s cave. The Unown cave is even close by. So it does suck in a region so dedicated to history and lore, Goldenrod gets the short end of the stick, but hey. No other Johto town has a magnet train!
There’s lots of little stuff too. Like Bill’s house, the tunnel, The Name Rater, and the flower shop to name a few.
So what’s your favorite town/where would you live if you moved to a pokemon region. It’s a fun question. Put some thought into what town offers the most to you.

Today’s Theme: Favorite Normal Pokemon
I never really think much of normal pokemons. After all, theyre just that. However, I found some that seem to be anything but normal.
So whose my favorite: Porygon
Honestly, any of the Porygons have always fascinated me. In the 90’s they seemed so cool. They were based on computers and coding. He had the signatures move conversion 1 and 2 and Sharpen. Which in all honesty are cooler in theory than practice, but it’s still cool. I think part of the mystery is that I’ve never fully studied them. This helps keep them kind of in the dark. It’s my imagination doing the telling. It’s like with Unown or a handful of legends. I never look beyond what is given, so there’s still a lot I do not know about them. That’s cool to me.

Daily Blog Challenge: January 24th
Today’s Theme: Favorite Poison Pokemon
They are cut throat and ruthless. Poison by design is one of the fiercest types. I always liked the poison type though I never really used them until I got to high school. I became in love Crobat years later after he was released. He was such a great pokemon. He had awesome speed and was poisonous. Amazing combo. I was thinking about breaking into competitive and using poison strategies was going to be something I tried. Instead, I used Abrok to get intimidation and than poison. It was a good idea but Arbok was took weak in the competitive scene to accomplish much before dying. I never got around to using Crobat competitively, but I did use him a number of play throughs.
So whose my favorite: Weezing
Yeah, Mister 6 Packs A Day himself. I’m picking Weezing because I caught a Koffin in Emerald and he was on my team the whole way through. That might have been my favorite team because that team was just a mix of odd ball characters. I had Swampart, Weezing, and Castform. That was the team I used to beat the game. I do not know how either. haha
The first time I ran a youtube channel I made a banner that had Weezing, Arbok, and Crobat saying “Get Infected”. You know. Infected with videos. That’s when I realized I really liked poison as a type even if most of the pokemons are inferior. I might like them more than Water type. I don’t know. It’s close.
I know I said this was the last type post, but I missed normal and I might even have missed another one. So I’ll be checking into that later. I got to go to my brother’s birthday party so I probably wont be on here much today.
