Daily Blog Challenge: February 9th
Today’s Theme: Hardest Zelda Game
I find the Zelda game’s relatively easy and only one game even sticks out to me as being even remotely hard.
That Game: Link’s Adventure
One Picture. Countless Nightmares
Yeah, I did not have to look too hard to find this one. I’ve never beat more than the first temple. Yeah. I think this game was so different. It was a top down mixed with side scrolling action. You died so easily and when you got a game over, you restarted at the main temple. I really want to go back and play because the characters and towns actually look decent.
I know today was short. But I’ve only had a short experience with the game. Tomorrow I’ll talk about easiest and I should be able to talk a little more about it.

Manga Monday(On a Tuesday!) ReLife Vol 1
I really wanted to get this up yesterday but school work was too taxing. I dont want to have to wait til next week, so I’m doing it today!
I read ReLife by So Yayoi and published by Earth Star Entertainment.
Right off the bat, I really enjoyed this and I’m happy to be reviewing it so be sure to check it out afterwards.
Okay here we go!
Spoilers- Meh. They hint at some future stuff we will discuss but nothing major.
Plot- So I checked this manga out because it seemed like a change of pace. I had just done One Punch Man(Check out my review here!) and I wanted something a little more deeper than OPM. Arata is a 27 year old loser. He does not have a job, his family has little faith in him, and he’s fallen out of the loop with friends. Honestly, this is pretty much how I felt a few weeks ago, so it was very easy to put myself in his shoes. Anyway, he is selected for the ReLife program. This program leaves him 27 but gives him the appearance of a 17 year old. I thought this program was going to put him in another body or something extreme, but alas it gives him a second chance at high school. Why is this important? Arata cannot find a job, and ReLife offers to help him once his one year trial is complete. This is his story in the life of a high school body once again.
Characters- Oh boy! Normally I can only talk about one or two characters, but there’s actually a few characters in here that we get a decent understanding of who they are.
Arata- For starters, our main character. He was denied another job and now his family is no longer going to support him. He tries really hard not to connect with any of the high school students, but due to his overwhelming compassion for others and his inability to stay low-key, he ends up having several interaction with the students. He is not very good at this being younger and adjusting to school. One of the many things he fails to recall is that he can’t smoke. Not only is he now technically 17, he’s also on school grounds. It’s quite humorous how the students and teachers interact with his hmm, “forgetfulness”.
Ryo- One of the funniest character’s to a manga I’ve ever read. He is the ReLife agent who offered Arata the pills to change him. He is also Arata’s overseer. He takes the pills with him. Ryo knows how to get inside of Arata’s head and push his buttons. He is always making jokes about how dumb Arata is, or joking about Arata falling in love with the students, and is just always making Arata feel embarrassed. This interaction between the two main character’s really makes this a special manga to me. Ryo genuinely is interested in Arata as a person and is truly captivated by Arata’s interaction with his classmates. This makes the dialogue exchange between the two so honest and so welcomed. Not to mention, it’s absolutely hilarious.
Hishiro- Hishiro is the silent type. Noted as not smiling too much or ever having friends, she normally keeps to herself. She has been class president every year beforehand and looks to keep that title headed into this year. She takes a liking to Arata(or so it is lead on to believe). Which is a concept I debated on how I felt for a long time. Ryo heavily suggest Arata give her a chance. Arata’s response is no because she is ten years younger than him, despite him looking like a 17 year old. Which i agree with Arata. He still has the mind of a 27 year old. But every since they begun “talking” Arata seems more happy and lively. There’s a scene where they flirt over business emails(Yeah, email). Which ends in Arata laughing so hard. This scene is really well done, because it’s two characters who do not fit in too well with their peers, but in this moment they are letting their walls done for each other.
Rena/Oga/And the rest of the bunch- She is another female student in Arata’s grade. She is eyeing the class president spot but first must dethrone Hishiro. She finds Arata as a disturbance due to him getting busted with cigarettes and not having a pencil, but she does lend him one. Oga so far as come off as a funny smooth talker. I believe he’s only had one scene, but I very much enjoyed his personality while he was there. Ms. Amatsu is here to make Arata look bad. She is a 25 year old who is already doing more with her life than Arata. She also busted him with the cigarettes and forces him to write an essay. The last character introduced was Honoka. I believe little has been revealed about her so far, but I’m sure we will see how she ties into the loop soon.
The World- This category does not so much matter with mangas like this. It’s your every day earth much like ours.
Recap-
Action-None.
Romance- I do not think it’s come right out and said anything. If I had to guess, Arata could hook up with Hishiro. Rena and Oga might be a thing. They appear to flirt a bit.
Plot- It feels like it’s been done before(reminds me of Case Closed which is never a bad thing). But I like the spin of seeing him adjust to high school life
Characters- Such a lovely batch of characters.
The World- Bland. But it doesnt have to be anything more than what it is.
Humor- One of the funniest manga’s I’ve ever read.
Verdict- Hilariously well done. It does not have action, which can be good. It does not rely on effects or being over the top like One Punch Man. The characters will have you in stitches. Easily one of the best manga’s I’ve read.
Score- 9.5 out of 10. Yeah. I love this manga. I did not know it existed two days ago, but much like how I fell for Food Wars, I’ve fallen for ReLife. You should too! Volume One ended hinting at the last subject before Arata who did not do so well, Volume 1 and 2 are available free on Crunchyroll, Volume 5 is coming out next week, and there is an anime coming out next month! What are you waiting for! You have no reason not to give it a try!
Daily Blog Challenge: February 8th
Today’s Theme: What Item would I want to be real?
Another huge defining aspect of the series is the items. Obviously some are real like the bow and arrow and bombs. Others are very imaginative. Today I’m going to tell you which I would want to be real.
So what Item would I choose: Lens of Truth.
This really is a hard decision. There’s so many cool magic items that would be so legit to have in our world and plus the hookshot would be awesome to carry around. It could turn you into Spiderman! But the Lens of Truth definitely has one of the cooler abilities. I’m just not entirely sure how I’d apply it in real life. It’d be cool if it could see when people are lying or some kind of magical and mysterious effect like that. I’m not sure how many optical illusion corridors exist in our world, but I’d be prepared for them!
Really, there’s a ton of great items, it’s hard to pick just one.

Daily Post Challenge: February 7th
Today’s Theme: Where would I want to live in the Zelda Universe
So, if I we’re Link and I finally decided to hang up the hero’s sword and that fashionable green tunic for the last time, where would I settle down? If you remember a few days back, I said the npc’s were not that immersive. The towns, on the other hand, are rather great. I love most of the towns in the Zelda Universe. We’ve been to a lot.
So where would I want to retire: Kakariko Village
Just look at it!
It’s been here since Link To The Past, and it’s been pretty good to us. My first memories of this town are from Ocarina of Time. The town theme is timeless. The carpenters are hilarious with all their weird sounds. And you learn the song of storms here!
As much as I remember it being really peaceful and enjoyable, I’m remembering how weird and eerie the village was too.
For starters, the graveyard. Dampe is a very memorable character. He is always stocking the graveyard with his shovel. Not to mention, when he passes away when you move forward in time was really sad to me. But, we did however get the Hookshot, a very cool item.
Next on the eerie list. The skulltula house. The family placed under a curse. The lighting helps set the tone. Dont even get me started on the creepy sounds and dancing.
There’s also the witch’s potion shop. Witches are pretty inherently creepy.
Lastly, the well. The well man. It’s not even a hard part, but the area is so creepy. The fact that you cant truly see the creatures and corridors makes it so I would not go down there if it was me.
But all that aside. It’s a quick horse ride to the Zora’s domain, The Hyrule castle, and the beach(lake)! Not to mention, Death Mountain is your backyard.
Okay, so honestly, it’s a pretty creepy place, but the theme music make’s it very relaxing, and the renovations suggest it’s on the rise! Also, the Kakriko village in A Link To The Past is super sweet, but I have not been there recently enough to recall details.
Anyway, where would you like to like town wise?

100th Post
Today were not doing Daily Post Challenge. Instead, I’m making a simple post. This will be my 100th post on DaHubbz.
This channel is not huge in any sense of the word, however, the regulars that have flocked to my post have been truly great.
Some people comment.
Some people give likes.
Some people simply read.
But regardless that means a lot to me.
I started back in June(July?) with the sole intent of meeting people to chat about Pokemon and Anime. And that’s what I’ve done. I look forward to logging in every day to chat with cool people.
January was our biggest month. Post everyday was challenging with school, but I’m glad I stuck with it.
I thought that would be the biggest thing I did on this account, but I have a project coming up that I hope you guys will enjoy.
I’m still learning to be a good blogger. I’m still developing my own personality and style. I’m still working on networking and meeting new people.(I rarely comment on stuff. I gotta change that this year).
Anyway, I hope you guys have enjoyed the content so far. I’m open to reviewing any anime or manga. Follow me on here and get involved with the content. Follow me on twitter and let’s chat.

Daily Blog Challenge: February 5th Top Five Ocarina Songs
It’s Friday, time for a Top Five!
Today’s Theme: Favorite Ocarina Songs!
Music, whether it’s themes or soundtracks or songs, mean a huge part to games. It’s what makes horror games horrifying(Sounds in general). But if there is any one game franchise defined by it’s soundtrack(That isnt a music based game), It’s The Legend of Zelda. I think in hindsight that’s one of the reasons Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask(OoT more so) have been instant classics. I know little of the technicality of music. What I’m basing this off of is the feelings and memories these conjured up when I went back an listened to them again.
#5- Song of Healing- What a tone setter for Majora’s Mask. Meant to personify the tormented souls Link aids in his journey, it does quite the job. This song, coupled with the cut scenes of the souls finding their bodies, is totally a chilling experience to watch. It put’s you in their shoes. It’s the perfect song for a game like this. It’s even so good it makes faces fall off!
#4- Song of Storms- Maybe one of the more iconic songs to me in the whole franchise(Like just simply a song in general). It’s very fast and very chaotic. Not only does it capture the essences of a storm, it also captures the feel of the game at time. You were just a small village boy from the woods when destiny threw a deku curve nut. Now you posses this Triforce and your the hero of legend. Whoa! Also the old man lossing his absolute mind when he hear’s it is still one of my favorite scenes in all of Zelda.
#3- Song of Time- Probably the song you’ll use the most in your quest. You’re going to hear it several times and it will grow on you. One of the two iconic songs to come from OoT. You can’t forget it. If you’re playing Majora’s Mask, you already have the sucker memorized. Right A Down, *three days pass* Right A Down, *Three Days Past* Right A Down. It’s almost like it never ends…
#2- Zelda’s Lullaby- From the general fan, die hards and noobies a like, this is probably the song. I mean THE SONG. Learning this song on the castle grounds makes that whole experience magical. It’s calming, mysterious, and special. It’s every element of that that makes Legend of Zelda timeless rolled into a song. It perfectly explains Link and Zelda’s relationship. To hear Link play Zelda’s lullaby to advance in his quest shows how no matter how far apart they are, they always are truly thinking of each other and helping each other.
#1- Epona’s Song- I suppose this is where the list gets controversial. No, this is not one of my signature wacky picks. This is honestly my favorite song. And maybe the reason why I fell in love with the game. Yes, I struggled and went back and forth on making Zelda’s Lullaby one and Song of Time 2 and Epona’s song somewhere down the list. But, I just could not. If you read my first post on the Legend of Zelda, you know I stumbled upon the game when my uncle was showing my cousin how to play. The part they were at was Lon Lon ranch. They were learning this song. I walked in from the kitchen to the living room and this was the first thing. I heard Malon’s soothing voice coming in strong, followed by Link reciting the same sounds, and finally the song playing beautifully. In that moment a bond was born between Link and his horse. In the same moment, a bond was born between me and that little game. I had no idea the magnitude it would have on me though. And for that reason, I have to leave Epona’s song as number one.

Daily Blog Challenge:February 4th
Today’s Theme: My favorite race.
I like the Legend of Zelda has used some unique-ish races in it’s game. The dekus are an interesting plant based life form. The Zoras are fish people. Lastly, the Gorons are mountain dwellers. Oh, and the two human races, Hylians and Sheikahs. Those there are the main, though they’re not the only ones
So which is my favorite: Zoras.
The dekus are beautiful and very peaceful(For the most part). Though, they’ve never struck me as interesting. They do become somewhat of an interest in Windwaker due to a more reoccurring nature of the race within that game. Gorons are quite funny and their civilizations may be up there in the most fun to adventure in. They give personality to Death Mountain in Ocarina of Time. However, Zoros are the race I think is the most interesting throughout the whole the series.
They got their start as River Zoras in the original game. They were villains and albeit very annoying and flat villains, but later on they became an interesting part of the Zelda mythos. In some of the old games, they granted Link the ability to swim or better maneuvering in water. Not to mention, from the Zora’s Domain to the the Great Bay, they always have some of the prettiest homelands in the series. I remember being captivated by the Zora ‘s Domain in Ocarina of Time. Their fancy hierarchy and the Jabu-Jabu fish just made them a fun clan to learn about.

Daily Blog Challenge: February 3rd
Today’s Theme: Which game had the best supporting cast?
As much as I love the Zelda series, their NPC’s just feel flat most of the time. I mean the regulars are solid, but I just do not get immersed with the npc like in Fallout per se. One game I do feel is different. One game I think got the NPC’s right.
So which game is it: Windwaker
Yes. I feel Windwaker had the best supporting cast. I suppose you could make an argument for Majora’s mask. After all, you see all these people in their finally days! But I have to give the nod to Windwaker. Windwaker is much more vibrant and I think that goes well with the characters. From the pirates, to the dekus, to the rito’s. The characters brought out the best of their island, and the islands brought out the best in their inhabitants. It’s this special relationship that I think that gives it the advantage.

Today’s Theme: My First Experience Will The Legend of Zelda
My first time with the LoZ franchise was Ocarina of Time. This is probably common for early to mid 90’s kid. Originally I was watching my uncle teach my cousin how to play. It was at the Lon Lon ranch. They had just learned Epona’s song. I do not know what it was exactly. I never really played games as much as I did watch them. I watched my dad and mom play games before bed a lot. This was the first game I saw someone play and thought “Oh, man. I have to learn to play this game. Like right now.” My memory is not the best, so I never remember which I played first: Pokemon Red or LoZ.
Now, I’ve played every home console one except Skyward Sword because it required motion plus, which I did not have at the time sadly.
So what was your first experience with the Legend of Zelda? Were you throwing it back on the NES or rocking the new Wii titles? Or somewhere in the middle?

Magic Monday: Oath of the Gatewatch First Impression
Oath of the Gatewatch is Wizard’s latest installment in their addictive tcg Magic: The Gathering.
To me, BFZ was, for the most part, disappointing. I had high hope for the allies, but the best they could do was a gimmick Sac deck. Now, Gideon did provide some umph, some 60 dollar umph.
I remained spoiler free and last week my girlfriend and I bought two of the pre-constructed decks.
I got myself concerted efforts. A green/white deck that relied on the new Mechanic Support.
Support reads “As this card enters the battlefield, Put a +1+1 on up to X creatures. Needless to say I love this mechanic. I’m a green player so getting to make my creatures bigger each turn worked wonders for me.
This was my promo card
He’s pretty sweet. The rest of the deck felt weird, but effective. It was filled mostly with white weenies and some okay fliers. I was able to beef them up to form a giant massive flying army. I was winning every game until I helped her tweak her deck to be a little better suited(I gave her some reach creatures and plummets to help disrupt my board presence.)
Her deck was the vicious cycle deck. Its a green/black deck that wants to sacrifice creatures to gain advantages. It’s an okay deck, but for whatever reason she couldnt get it going until my army had already amounted. To combat this we gave her some plummets and other forms of removal like ultimate price. After that, she won the next four. We filled the deck with scion token producers and she sac’d them to activate bone splinters, so I never had a board presence. But hey, she was enjoying it!
All in all, I barely feel like these decks gave us a taste of OGW. Our deckes were filled with a bunch more BFZ cards than I thought they would have. And I feel as if her deck didnt seem to redefine standard as much as it was just a rehash of the aristocrats style of play.
I love the support mechanic and I’m definitely interested in building around it. The big draw back is it runs tiny creatures and at times(If I fell behind) support felt like a dead mechanic. You cannot support yourself so if there’s nothing on the field, Gladeheart Cavalry’s support is wasted. I still have more mechanics to fool with so I’m interested in seeing what else this expansion set has in store.
