Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, everyone. The year is coming to a close. Jessica and I have a big announcement tomorrow for the blog. We will also be doing a channel update and a year in review post. But for now. Enjoy the holidays, everyone.
Shin Megami Tensei V is on Sale (Via Walmart, Gamestop and Amazon
Hey guys, if you’ve been on the fence about picking up one of the hottest and latest Nintendo Switch exclusives, now might be the best time. I looked and looked for it to be on sale during Black Friday. Honestly, I didn’t see any good deals. Now that Shin Megami Tensei V is marked down $20 off at most major retailers, this creates a perfect buying opportunity for Nintendo Switch collectors and RPG enthusiasts alike.

(At the time of writing this article, I have no affiliate links with any of the mentioned websites. I do not receive any kickbacks if you buy a product listed below.)

I’m sure the game is worth the full asking price considering it is the next in a long running JRPG series, The Shin Megami Tensei franchise. A critically acclaimed series developed by the prestigious Atlus studios. Still, every bit of savings helps this close to the holidays.

Let me know if you guys end up picking up the game.
I Started Playing Brilliant Diamond.
The game has been an absolute blast so far. Gen 4 is, in my opinion, the best generation in the series. Admittedly, I played a lot my first day playing it. The next few play sessions I’ve been trying to trick my Switch into thinking it’s Friday to catch a Drifloon but I am not having success with that. Again, other than that, I am loving it. The battling is fun. The Pokemons look great. And it’s awesome to revisit one of favorite regions.
Have you had a chance to play either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl yet? Let me know in the comment section down below! Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone!
Black Friday has Been Underwhelming…
I made a post a few days ago about how birthdays have lot their magic. This is a similar post. Black Friday was kind of boring. There were a lot sales. Don’t get me wrong. Yet I felt like none of the sales matched up with what I wanted to buy. For example, I wanted to buy the new Mario Party Super stars. Well, all the deals involved pre-owned copies, which I couldn’t find any pre owned copies. I tried to get Jessica Studio Ghibli films. The deal was buy 2 get the 3rd free. However, it was hard to find a 3rd one within my budget. I did give my mom some Christmas ideas based off those buy 2 get 1 free which was good.
I wanted to buy studio lights for my house. The deals for the ones in my budget were not great (like knocking 1 down from 80 bucks to 72 bucks.). The $999 one was marked to like 600 but I wasn’t ready to spend that money on a hobby. It was the same problem for a workout rack and bench. The deals on the ones I was comfortable spending just were not great.
Since Black Friday in person actually started on Friday this year, I didn’t really get to go shopping. I worked until 10 tonight. By the time I got to Walmart, there was nothing worth noting except the sale on Fire Emblem and Zelda BOTW, both I which I already owned.
Books A Million and Barnes and Noble completely let me down. I wanted to clean them out of some mangas, but they really aren’t running any good sales. Target probably had the best deal with some of their board games. They have Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan half priced. They have some other games on sale too that are worth checking out.
So yeah, there’s definitely deals to be had but a lot them were tough to make work out. I’ll be interested to see how the Cyber Monday sales go. Anyway thanks for reading and have a great night!
Family Game Night.
We’ve had a great family game night so no blog tonight. Tomorrow is of course Thanksgiving so who knows how that’ll go. Friday it’s back to work for Black Friday. Let the Holidays begin and the start of the Big Retail Season kick off.
Birthdays as an Adult Have Lost Their Magic
Maybe it is growing up. Maybe it is a change in prospective. But as you get older, birthdays lose their magic.
Today is my birthday. When people figured out I was working, everyone told me I should have asked off. My initial thought, why? I took Saturday off to go to a family Thanksgiving event. I have Wednesday and Thursday off. I would rather take today and get money than take today off.
I think a lot of working adults will understand that. My life isn’t stressful enough where I need this one night to unwind. I got Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes for my birthday. It will probably be next week before I play them (unless I randomly give in to the urge tonight). Even though I’m off, I’m still busy with family functions this week. I have an insurance inspector coming to look at my house tomorrow at 10am. I just got off work. I’ll probably spend the rest of the night rearranging my house for tomorrow and then go to bed.
My mom wanted me to take off work and spend the day with her. But it’s just not the same. People ask me what I want for my birthday, nothing comes to mind. It’s not that there aren’t things I want. It’s just I don’t spend the month leading up to it thinking about it like you do when you’re younger.
I’d be very interested to hear what you guys think about the matter. I bought the $1 Walmart mint chocolate cookies from Walmart as a treat to myself. Outside of that, today was a normal day. So make sure you sound down in the comments. I want to hear if this is something all adults eventually go through or not.
I Applied for My First Side Hustle!
Don’t get me wrong, I do love my job as I have alluded to in previous blogs. I get to put Pokemon cards online for my local hobby shop. Sadly, though, it just pays $10 an hour. Looking ahead to 2022, I have financial goals. I’d like to save more, make more, invest more and take two vacations. Greedy! I know!
However, I feel like my current job is only going to get me so far. Now, this new side hustle isn’t crazy money. But it is still money. It will allow me to make money when I’m off or have free time. That’s the exciting part.
Now I have applied and I’m just waiting to hear back. I’ll do an update blog whenever I figure out the verdict.
Seeing Eternals Tonight!
I had plans to do a Humble Bundle post today, but my day has been very choppy between a meeting and the movies. Meaning I didn’t have time to do a good write up on it. So hopefully that can be something I do tomorrow.
Anyway, tonight Jessica and I are going to see Eternals. So that’s today’s post. Again we will try to get back to regularly scheduled post tomorrow, lord willing.

My New AP Top 10 as of October 17th, 2021!
Georgia continues to dominate. Iowa got exposed failing to catch up to Purdue. Oklahoma looks reinvigorated. Half the Big 10 took byes this week. Let’s break down this week’s top 10.
Georgia- Georgia still clinches the number 1 spot by a country mile at this point. They continue to be the most complete team in the country. They added another top 15 win to their resume besting Kentucky.
Cincinnati- Hard to argue with Cincinnati at this point. They just keep winning. They went out and beat IU and ND out of conference. Now they have to keep stomping their in conference foes.
Oklahoma- Under true freshman QB Caleb Williams, OU is finally playing like a top 10 team. 9-0 is easy to imagine before they get into the heart of Big-12 play. Baylor, ISU and Oklahoma State stand ready to challenge OU for the top spot in the Big 12.
Alabama- Alabama was hoping to prove last week was a flute. They did just that, destroying MSU. Alabama still has some tricky SEC West games to go. They hope to be 11-1 facing Georgia for a playoff spot.
Penn State- PSU was on bye this week. If Clifford returns, I still have them as a top 5 team.
Ohio State- Ohio State was on bye as well. Not much to say here but I believe they are a more complete team than Iowa.
Michigan- 3 straight entries for the Big 10. 3 straight bye weeks. The bye weeks have made this hard to guage honestly.
Oklahoma State- The biggest mover for me is Oklahoma State. I wasn’t a believer early, but they have compiled quality wins over Baylor and Texas now as well as remaining undefeated.
Michigan State- I can’t wait for Michigan State and Michigan to settle this ranking mystery. As my pick in that game changes weekly. Still, they are unbeaten and surviving when they need too.
Iowa- Iowa is one dimensional. And by that I mean strictly defensively minded. I have my reservations about them as a whole after they couldn’t muster much in the way of offense after falling behind to Purdue. Iowa still has their whole season ahead of them, but they need to figure things out soon. I think a realistic landing spot for Iowa is somewhere between 6-8. The competition is Fierce in those spots and the loss is one of the worst of any top 15 team. Combine that will a fluky win over PSU and that’s why I’m parking them here.
Oregon falls out of my top 10 because they simply have been unimpressive if you remove the OSU game. Still the Big 10 will consume themselves while Oregon should be able to run the Pac-12. Meaning, if they keep winning, they will be a top 10 team soon enough.
So there’s my new top ten. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Thinking Out Loud
I was going to start tracking my investing journey today on the blog or show off some comics I got today. However, when I got home I played Pokemon Emerald. Now I need to walk my dogs and get ready for bed so all those thoughts will have to wait until later. Got big things going on tomorrow though!
