Coming Back
The last post I made was about our cat, Elizabeth’s vet visit. She is fine now. At that time, we were stressing out about keeping an eye out on her. Our AC unit broke, our hot water unit messed up and we were planning our honey moon. And to make things even worse, Crunchyroll stopped playing anime. We had watched the first 3 episodes of Tokyo Revengers and than boom… Crunchyroll stopped loading anime.
With all that said, our AC unit is fixed, our water heater is fixed, Elizabeth is fine and Crunchyroll is working again. We would like to make another comeback.
I know we were doing daily post for a while and you may think we got burned out. Well, due to our broke AC unit, we literally burned out. But, metaphors aside, we have just been sorting out things in our life. Personally, I really want to get back into the swing of blogging and keep any momentum going forward.
With that in mind, I have been making a lot of video game related videos over on my Youtube channel. Be sure to check those out as I’ve been talking about the Zelda 35th Anniversary and how to make collecting fun and affordable for example.
Anywho, thank you guys for reading and sticking with me. Again, not promising daily post, but I am going to try and get some regularity going back on the blog!
Elizabeth’s vet appointment
This is going to be a short post. My usual readers may be confused why this is on the blog. I like to do life post so I can always go back and read these later, like virtual journals.
I’m not going into detail on this post because a lot is unknown still. Our cat is staying over night at the vet because she refuses to pee. They need her pee to know for sure what’s wrong with her. Long story short, she hasn’t used the bathroom in 48 hours (only little spots of pee here and there.). Jessica and I have spent the last 5 hours in a town 30 minutes away just fo be told they’re keeping her over night. It’s not their fault so were not mad. But were finally going home where we have to be back at the vet at 7am.
It’s just a little awkward with our schedule, but that’s our baby.
Anywho, I had a different post planned for today but that can wait for the weekend. Thank you guys for reading and have a great day.
Streams Are Coming Back!
Hey guys. Thursday Night streams are making a come back! If you arent following our YouTube channel you’re missing out. Normally on Thursday nights we stream A Hat in Time content. We are planning on streaming random stuff over on Twitch so make sure you follow both the Dahubbz YouTube channel and Twich channel. Feel free to recommend solo games or Co-OP games. I dont usually play online multiplayer games though.
Anyway, if you ever make it to a stream, be sure to be apart of the chat.
Thank you guys and have a great night!
Why We’ve Mostly Been Watching the anime Case Closed
Case Closed was one of my favorite animes growing up. When Jessica and I got together in 2014, it didn’t take me long to introduce her to anime. First I showed her Naruto and One Piece. However, after I went to an F.Y.E. down in Panama City over a summer vacation with a friend I managed to pick up season 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the anime. Jessica and I began watching the first 50 or 60 episodes of the show. Eventually we fell off as we tried to expand out taste in anime. We started to watch some of the latest animes that were coming out and some of the hotter choices. As a result we fell behind on some long, ongoing series. Case Closed was a causality of new animes coming out like Assassination Classroom, Parasyte, Attack on Titan and so on. I don’t regret that. As a result, I had more animes to talk about here on the blog. My taste grew as I searched more than just childhood and newer Shonens. Well, we’ve been eyeballing Case Closed for a while as the latest 300 episodes or so are on Crunchyroll. Something we noticed was it was super close to 1,000 episodes. We tried to binge watch 300 episodes in a few weeks that way we could watch the premier of episode 1,000. We failed. We were watching 4, and sometimes more, episodes a night sacrificing time to do other things like stream, play games and clean smaller things around the house. Eventually it became too much and we missed the premier. Finally, we broke down and looked up a filler guide and skipped the filler episodes for now. Within no time, we surged past episode 1,000. Are we current, kinda. We’ve skipped a lot of filler and Crunchyroll is missing over half the anime, but we are watching new episodes as they premier now.

Since this became our goal, we fell off watching newer animes. I’ve started to remedy this by watching the latest seasons of anime such as Odd Taxi, To Your Eternity, Tokyo Revengers, and Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. You guys will see in a future post why balancing getting caught up on old anime while trying to stay current with new anime is a tough hobby. Either way, there you go. When I made my post about Case Closed a little while ago, I wasn’t watching new animes. As such, there were no new anime reviews coming to blog. I’m trying to get better at that aspect and I think I am. Here’s to staying on top of it.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Should You Blog Every Day? Quality vs Quantity?
This is a question I ask myself often. I normally am reviewing anime and mangas and talking about video games. I do some top fives and other random stuff too. So that’s a run down of what I do here. I’ve attempted daily blogging before. My longest streak was about 40ish days. Outside of random streaks, I’m lucky to blog a few times a week. Sometimes I can go months without blogging. Today, let’s dive into the pros and cons of daily blogging.
Full disclosure: I don’t have the answer to this question. By the end of this post, I still probably won’t know. However, maybe we will have a better understanding or maybe you’ll gleam something useful from this.

Pro: The biggest pro is honing your craft. There’s some caveats here though. You have to be challenging yourself to get better. Often this is why I quit daily blogging. I’m no longer challenging myself. However, if you take the time to get better at it, it becomes more rewarding. You will grow your reader base and get more interaction. For some people, they are natural born writers and story tellers. Others will have to strain to get better. Some will be in the middle. That’s okay. But like any thing you want to get good at, you’re going to have to practice.
The next pro should be that it is fun. Regardless of if you are good or bad, improving or stagnate, getting views from strangers or your cat’s alt account, blogging should be fun. If you are enjoying it, then I say keep going but be mindful of burnout.
Another potential positive is turning a hobby into a side hustle. Honestly, I cannot speak from experience, but many people make money on the side by blogging. If you are informative or entertaining you can market yourself as such. I can’t give any real pointers here except stand out or perfect your role.

Cons: The biggest con in my opinion is burnout. If you are unfamiliar, this just means it stops being fun. You no longer look forward to being a blogger. I can’t say this exactly happens to me, but it is something close to it. Nevertheless, burnout can be felt in any hobby, job or most things humans do. You’ll need to take a break, approach it from a different angle, or try a different activity for a bit in order to get a new found appreciation or outlook on blogging.
What happens to me more so, is just not having time. My blogs, when done properly, are time consuming. Here I am waiting until 10pm to write this post. If I want to get it out by 11:59pm tonight, I’m probably going to compromise something such as typing accuracy or proper wording so I’m understood. When you do not give yourself time to proof read or add nice touches to paragraphs you can have grammatical errors, sound confusing, or just write something that is unimpressive or boring. Within my 24 hours I try to hit 10,000 steps, workout, upload videos to 2 Youtube channels and the blog. consume something useful for either the channels or the blog (such as watch anime to review the next day.), work, and enjoy my actual life. Sometimes quality just dips because we are being pulled in a million directions. It happens.
Another thing to consider is running out of ideas. It may sound crazy with how spontanous and random life can be, but sometimes you run out of things to blog or film or talk about. Those days it is really up to you to go seize life. This is more of a problem with my Youtube channel than my blog, but it is something to keep in mind.
So there’s 3 Pros and 3 Cons for blogging everyday. On one hand, you can improve your skills, have a blast and maybe even make some money. On the other hand, you could get burned out, lose track of time or compromise other aspects of your life, or just flat out run out of things to blog about.
I highly recommend you consider all these aspects and how you can make the good outweigh the bad. If people leave suggestions for more pros and cons, or I think of some, I may do a follow up. For those curious, this should make day 5 of my new daily streak and something like 8 out of the last 9. I’m going strong with still plenty to talk about but time crunch and management is a real weakness of mine. I’m off tomorrow. Hopefully I can write a few post to get ahead of the game.
Anyway, as always thanks for reading. If this is your first time here, consider reading some of my other works.

I Cannot Believe We’re Already in February..
I’ve already talked about how I wont be doing daily blog post this year. However, I had more ambition post ideas than just a few post at this point in the year. Here’s why I have not posted nearly as much.
My Job– I have a wonderful job so I am not complaining. But I work 12-9pm. I live an hour away from my job. So I leave around 11 and get home around 10. That’s basically all day. Meaning it is hard to find time to plan and write the post.
Too Many Hobbies– I actually run 3 Youtube channels, have a job, and many side hobbies such as exercising, video games, comic books and so forth. I’ve been trying to Stream twice a week on Dahubbz and upload daily videos on my personal Youtube account. As a result when I get home, I am frantically taking care of other stuff.
Not Investing Time into Blog related Content- I’m sure this sounds confusing on the surface. But this vlog centers around anime reviews, manga reviews, and video game news. Sadly, I am just not doing a lot of that here recently. The only anime I am watching is Case Closed as I try to get to episode 1000 in time for it to air (Which, sadly, I probably will not be able to).
There’s certainly more reasons like our never ending pursuit of rearranging our house or our endless question of who we are in this world but for the sake of not getting deep in a blog post I’ll leave it there.
Today I am working on editing some stream clips if you guys missed the streams so you can watch them on Youtube at your own pace. Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday so after work I’ll be watching the game.
I’ll try to do a post discussing Case Closed later and some other stuff. But again. Only time will tell. Thank you guys for sticking with me.

50 Followers Milestone!
So, I’ve been doing this blog thing for about 5 or so years and we just hit 50 followers. On the surface, that is about 10 followers a year. Not super impressive, but it is still something. So if you are one of those followers, thank you for following, reading and commenting/liking. I really do appreciate it.
Anyway, today is a short post. Have a great day guys. I’ll see you guys in the next post.
Recapping All Our Manga Mondays for 2020!
As discussed, this last Monnday was the last of the year. Meaning no more Manga Mondays for 2020. I thought it would be fun to recap what all we read.
Read But Not Reviewed: Eden Zero Volume 1-3.
Reviewed:
Rebirth Volume #1. Reviewed January 6th. Last Christmas my brother got me the first 22 volumes of Rebirth. We reviewed the first one to start the year off. It scored an 8 out 10. It wasn’t groundbreaking but it was just very solid for what it was. Read the full review here.

Rave Master Volume #1. Reviewed May 11th. This manga was a bit more up my alley as from as the genre. It plays out like most action orientated mangas of the late 90’s. Staring a teenage male who comes into possession of mystical, world saving weapons and items. This was the manga that helped jumpstart Hiro Mashima, writer of Fairy Tail, into the world renowned Mangaka he is today. It scored a 7.5 out of 10. Read my full review here.

Dragon Eye Volume #1. Reviewed June 8th. Take the same description from above. Boy comes into possession of a mystical, world saving weapon and item. Only this manga felt a lot more gritty and serious kind of in the same way Naruto could be really serious compared to One Piece. We gave Dragon Eye a 7 out of 10. Read my full review here.

Jujutsu Kaisen Volume #1. Reviewed October 19th. Maybe my favorite manga I reviewed this year. That’s very tough to call. However, this really felt like you were reading the next big thing. I did thoroughly enjoy this manga. This is backed up by the fact I scored it a 9 out of 10 stating it had all the makings of a classic. Read the full review here.

Zombie Powder Volume #1. Reviewed December 22nd. Again we find ourselves retracing roots. This was the debut manga from famous Mangaka Tite Kubo, author and creator of Bleach. The writing can be weird at times but if you enjoy early Dragon Ball mangas, you are going to love this manga. I scored it a 7 out of 10. Read the full review here

Psyren Volume #1. This manga started off all over the place and almost lost me several times. By the end of it, I was glad I stuck with it and finished it. I actually enjoyed it a lot. This book feels like it might have a lot going for it as the story progresses. Definitely worth the read. I rated it 7 out of 10. Read the full review here.

Scoring Breakdown:
0-6: 0
6.1-7: 3
7.1-8: 1
8.1-9: 1
9.1-10: 1
Average score: 7.583
Honestly, the main reason so many scored 7’s is because I felt like I enjoyed them a lot but the general public might not as much. Honestly, Rave Master might be my favorite I reviewed all year, but I know it got lost in the shuffle of the Narutos, One Pieces, and Bleach of the world. All in all, I liked every book I read. It is amazing how many mangas I bought this year and just how few reviews I did. It is really indictive of how hard momentum could be to keep this year.
Let me know what mangas I should review next year! Thank you for reading and have a great day.
A New A Hat in Time Let’s Play on Our Youtube Channel!
Hey guys, just a few house cleaning matters. As discussed, I want to make more Digimon The Card Game posts. I have a lot of content planned. It is really just a matter of how the next two months go. As college, Christmas, bills from electric to dentist bills are going to make the rest of the year a little tight. Obviously, Digimon has 3 sets coming out from January to March. So, we will just see how these next 4 or so months pan out.
I want to do some 2020 reflections, both in regards to the blog and my life and just 2020 in general. Topics could range from “Weird things that have happened this year” to “Favorite 2020 Memes and Jokes”. Again, hopefully I’ll get around to making these post.
3rd, I’ll be advertising a few things in the coming days. The first one I am announcing now. There’s supposedly a lengthy mod for A Hat in Time called Breathing Sea. I’ve heard there’s 19 Time Pieces. The first episode aired just moments ago. Be sure to check it out!
Enjoy. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
December 1st is Upon Us
I’m sure as most of the frequent readers can tell, my posting has slowed way down. Again this comes down to having not read or watched anything lately (though I am watching Mandalorian!). Work has a large part to do with that. Even today, I’m working 12-9. Though now that school is over, Jessica and I are rearranging the house and cleaning up in preparations for the holiday. We know were getting a new mattress and dresser so it is time to readjust. When we get home and clean a little, we are typically tired and ready for bed. God willing, we will be done in a week or so and back on the Youtube and Blog grind. I have done a few things with my free time I will post about in the coming days. They just are not Manga or Anime related. We are also bracing for maybe an even crazier 2021 and trying to make sure all preparations on that front are made. Who knows what the future holds after all!
Alright everyone. Again, I just wanted to make an update post and try to get back in the swing of posting regularly again. It is always good to do a recharge post! I’ll see you guys in the coming day!
As always thanks for reading and have a great day!
